About CountdownMaker

CountdownMaker is a free collection of countdown tools: a big-screen online countdown timer, live date countdowns, interval timers for workouts and focus sessions, and a generator that turns a deadline into a snippet you can paste into any website.

How the timers work

Every timer on this site anchors on your device's clock rather than counting software ticks. That is why a ten-minute timer takes ten minutes even if the tab sleeps, a screen locks, or the browser throttles background pages — when the display comes back, it recomputes the true remaining time. Date targets are interpreted in the viewer's own timezone, and embedded countdowns are computed on each visitor's device for the same reason.

What this site is not

It is not an installed app: a web page cannot sound an alarm after its tab is closed, and cannot schedule notifications. It also has no accounts, no Pro tier, and no stored countdowns — there is deliberately nothing to sign up for.

Privacy in one line

Everything you set — durations, dates, embed settings — is processed in your browser and never uploaded. See the privacy policy for the full story.
